In Transit Pt. 1
If you read my last post, psych! I am bringing a carry-on.
When I weighed my checked bag, it was 51 pounds. Because I have a free carry-on and checked bag, I decided to bring the carry-on so I don't have to worry about my checked bag weighing more than 50 pounds on the way home in December. If I buy things abroad, I want to be able to bring them home and not pay a fee if my luggage is overweight when I'm able to have a carry-on for free.
11:30am
Sitting at Cleveland Hopkins Gate C5, ready to board my flight to Chicago! Will they let me bring my party sized bag of popcorn? Fingers crossed.
2:45pm
They didn't question the popcorn, even though it was in its own drawstring bag technically making it a second personal item? I'm now in Chicago, Gate M17, a little worried my underseat bag won't actually fit under the seat, but this is the adrenaline I live for.
I spent more time yesterday trying to edit my blog's .html than I did preparing to leave. I took a web design class, but I guess I can no longer consider myself a girl who codes* because I had no clue what was going on. My computer science boyfriend tried to help me over video chat, but it was challenging, even for him. I'm not sure who's reading this besides my mom, but be prepared for the design to change, probably more than once. Maybe I'll try to relearn .css on this next flight.
I'm also in the process of downloading a year's worth of videos so I can put together my one second videos** from the last 12 months before getting to Prague. I know that if I don't get them finished by the time I get there, it's probably going to be another 12 months before I get to them, but airport wifi is not on my side. I was overwhelmed with the amount of videos I had from my trip to Africa and then it was out of sight out of mind for a while. The wifi seems to be coming through for me at the moment so time to get downloading!
