Week 13: Fresh Air is Good For You
Monday, November 20th
We made fruit dumplings in Sociology of Food. I didn't know what to expect, but really liked the one I made! It was less chaotic than when we made potato pancakes, but some of us powdered the counter with powdered sugar instead of flour so there was still slight miscommunication.
Tuesday, November 21st
I spent Tuesday working on my presentation for Interpretation of European Fairytales the next day.
That night, Sadie, Aislinn, Michaela, and I tried to check out a concert in St. Vitus Cathedral that Zuzanna had told us about. Unfortunately, it seemed like you needed to know someone to get in and we weren't able to contact Zuzanna. We tried to listen from outside for a bit and then called it quits to admire the view from the castle.
Lots of people here for the concert
My favorite gargoyles (crayfish and frog)
View of the city

Wednesday, November 22nd
I had classes as usual and don't remember what I did during the afternoon.
That night, I walked down to the main building through the castle to meet Sadie and Aislinn. We then headed to the Namesti Miru Christmas Market.
Sadie and Aislinn wouldn't take a picture with Santa and when I finally convinced them, Santa was gone :(
Thursday, November 23rd
Our art history field trip was to the Museum of Communism, which was really interesting.

That afternoon, I did the Wild Horse Hike that was sent to us in one of the weekly ECES newsletters and it is one of my favorite things I have done this semester. It was a gloomy day, but still a very beautiful hike. I watched the horses for a while when I got to the top and then meandered my way back to the tram.
You can learn about the wild horses here.
That night, Sadie, Aislinn, and I went to Hard Rock Cafe for Thanksgiving lol. Many thanks were given and we enjoyed the American experience. Our table was under something that seemed important because a lot of people were taking pictures over us.
Something worn by the Red Hot Chili Peppers or something possibly maybe
Aislinn -- If you didn't want this on the blog, shouldn't have stood in the pic. If you want to file a formal complaint, you know where to find me.
Friday, November 24th
I did a hike up to some Celtic ruins. I didn't think through my shoe choice that morning because I wore my good tennis shoes and it was crazy muddy. In that moment, I told myself I had to prioritize adventure over material objects (especially because I was an hour from the dorms and didn't want to turn back at that point). I successfully reached the top of the hike where there appeared to be a lookout tower. I decided that if it appeared to be a lookout tour, it was probably a lookout tower, so I headed up. There was an amazing view, but the wind started blowing, like the whistling kind, and I'm not afraid of heights but I started thinking of my mom who is and suddenly I was afraid and ran my way back down.
Aislinn and I went to a pop-up market that evening that had a lot of cool vendors and then we walked along the river. There was an ambulance along the trail but no huge commotion so we kept walking BUT THEN I THINK I STEPPED IN A POOL OF blood ??? and I hope whoever was in that ambulance is okay

That night, Sadie, Aislinn, and I watched Clue and then the beginning of the Lorax and Barbie Princess and the Pauper before losing interest and heading our separate ways to honk shoo the night away.
