Weekend 15: Last Day in Prague 😌
Saturday, December 9th
I woke up at 7 to watch the sunrise from Strahov Monastery because it was the last (official) thing on my bucket list, and, boy, was it beautiful.
| Amazing 🤩😍 |
I relaxed back at the dorm and then helped Sadie take her luggage down. I’m glad I stayed an extra day because it was nice to spend a day with my friends and then have a day to myself and my thoughts.
I went to the gym to use the last of my passes and get some energy out before my (what I thought would only be) 22 hour journey home the next day.

Then I headed out on my last frolic around town. I walked through Mala Strana and across Charles Bridge, which was a mistake. The entire time I had to tell myself not to get annoyed by how slowly people were moving. I’m glad I walked across it one last time, but was not expecting it to be busier than my two previous times there during August and September.

Then I went to one of the islands because I wanted a nutria to touch me. I saw nutrias when I pedal boated and saw people feeding them and them doing the thing cats do when they want attention and I wanted that to be me for some reason(…the reason is I miss my cat). I tried and tried but these nutrias wanted nothing to do with me, probably because I didn’t actually have any carrots like the other people. When I got close, a dog barked and my nutria ran away like a loser, but I was determined. I headed back to the crowd and put my pride aside. I straight up called to this nutria. I made it see me and patted my leg and it was totally, 100%, completely worth it. The little tap from this baby nutria was everything I needed. I immediately bolted before I got it into my head that I needed to befriend it or I might’ve spent the rest of my final day there.
| I did it!!! |
I went in search of the microwave pesto pasta I’d gotten early in the semester only for Delmart to shatter my hopes and dreams. While they failed to provide pesto pasta, it was next to where the Kafka rotating head statue usually is and they had a temporary photo booth that I did because I was there and I saw it and I had to do it.
I went to another Delmart, only to be let down again. It was at this point I decided I would get gelato for dinner in remembrance of my dear friends Sadie and Aislinn who got ice cream for dinner with me one night a while ago.

I went back to the dorm to finish packing and do some last minute cleaning before getting "dinner." While cleaning out the freezer, I saw someone had left an entire frozen pizza and suddenly dessert was figured out.
After my bags were packed and there was only a few things left to do, I took the 22 down to Creme de la Creme where I enjoyed my coffee and Oreo cone at a table alone and reflected on the semester.
I then took my final ride on the 22 and savored every second of it.
